Transforming DTRA's HPC Landscape: SEAL Framework for Modernization and Security

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) relies on High-Fidelity (HF) computer codes for critical national security tasks related to investigating weapon effects phenomenology and countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). As these legacy codes evolve and DTRA's reliance on them increases, transitioning to modern application development and management practices becomes essential. As part of a DTRA-sponsored SBIR Phase II project, EP Analytics, Inc. is developing the Secure Application Lifecycle (SEAL) Management framework to facilitate this transition.

This presentation will introduce SEAL, which is a framework that helps HPC developers easily test and validate changes in their codes across multiple systems. The framework integrates containers as a key enabling technology, which allows SEAL to provide important features around security assurance and performance. This presentation will provide an overview of the modules under development to assist application teams in managing secure and highly performant CI/CD pipelines along with their usage on multiple HPCMP systems.
