Numerical Analysis of Aero-Optics for a MQ-9 Reaper Drone

Numerical simulations were performed to understand the aero-optics effects on a MQ-9 Reaper drone for laser weapon system applications.

IMPACT

Accomplishment: Led the development of a new prototype for a laser weapon system on a MQ-9 Reaper drone; Result: Demonstrated the feasibility and performance of a laser weapon system before the flight test – Enhanced operational capabilities and provided risk reduction thus reduces costs.
